Interstates

• Interstate 35, located 22 miles west of Taylor, crosses the United States from Mexico to Canada, allowing easy access from Taylor to Laredo, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, Wichita, Kansas City, Des Moines, and Minneapolis/St. Paul, as well as the Mexican and Canadian borders.

State Highways

• State Highway 79 runs east/west through Taylor, intersecting Interstate 35, 22 miles west of Taylor.

• State Highway 95 runs from U.S. Highway 190 in Temple, Texas, north/south through Taylor, and south to U.S. Highway 77 in Yoakum, Texas.

• State Highway 130 is a new tollway that allows drivers to avoid traffic congestion through central Austin and travel nonstop from Georgetown to Buda on the TX-130/TX-45 toll bypass. Located east of I-35 through Williamson and Travis counties, TX-130 extends from I-35 north of Georgetown to I-35 southeast of Austin. It is a four-lane divided facility with major interchanges at I-35, US-79 near Taylor, TX-45 North, U.S. 290, and TX-71. Ultimately, TX-130 will become a six-lane facility with a median capable of accommodating future transportation options such as rail.

• State Highway 45 provides a cross-city route between Round Rock, Austin, and neighboring communities. It is a four to six-lane divided roadway, with major interchanges at US-183, Loop 1, I-35 and TX-130. The interchange of TX-45 and TX-130 is located 10 miles southwest of Taylor.

Union Pacific

Union Pacific Railroad serves Taylor companies for freight service. Several business sites with direct rail access are currently available. Union Pacific has long maintained a rail marshalling yard with multiple switches and rail sidings in North-South and East-West directions connecting red lines with blue and green lines. Freight relocation services are available locally. Burlington-Northern-Southern-Pacific Railroad (Burlington Northern and Santa Fe) also has rail-sharing agreements in the Taylor area.

Amtrak

Amtrak Railway offers daily passenger rail service on the Texas Eagle connecting Taylor to Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and Chicago via Oklahoma City.

Austin- Bergstrom International Airport
